New Kitchen Build
LGM Design Group begins each engagement in close collaboration with client companies to creatively match vision, quality, functional efficiencies, and production needs with theme, menu, equipment and regulatory requirements that define the New Build program. We then translate the needs of the Kitchen program, providing space planning, design elements, equipment and budget details that inform and guide interior designers, architectural and engineering service providers working as a team on the project. LGM’s planning and design professionals work hand-in-glove with the client and every project team member.
State of the Art Design
LGM applies industry standard and state-of-the-art planning and design tools, including REVIT, a robust architectural design and documentation software specifically designed to support building information modeling (BIM) workflows.
New Kitchen Build Process
The four “pillars” of every project include planning and schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction quality assurance. LGM works with our client and the project team from concept through construction, adding clarity, practical and elegant solutions to design challenges, project management, equipment recommendations and specifications, estimating and budgeting, and construction quality assurance.
Step 1 Planning & Schematic Design
LGM consults with the client and project professionals in reviewing the kitchen program for the purpose of finalizing the space plan and budget estimate. This is followed by preparation of a schematic design drawing and flow diagram for all foodservice areas. Schematic drawings may be provided with updated budget estimates for the architect’s and owner’s review and approval.
Step 2 Design Development
LGM prepares rough-in drawings with complete schedules of equipment and utility requirements for point of connection. We then work with project engineers and other licensed professionals to coordinate the development of a construction contract as it affects equipment and operating systems. Cut sheets and written specifications are prepared that describe equipment and utility requirements. Final working drawings are then completed that show custom fabrication equipment and special construction details, including equipment layout, electrical, plumbing water and drain connections, ventilation, refrigeration, special conditions and critical dimension plans as well as any details, elevations and sections as required of custom fabrication to properly illustrate the scope of work.
Step 3 Construction Documents
LGM works in collaboration with the client and other professionals on the project team, coordinating critical inputs, drawings and documents, schedules, bidding, and construction quality assurance.
Step 4 Construction Quality Assurance
Following the bid and award process, LGM completes site visits during construction to support successful project outcomes. We also provide as-built drawings of the completed project for kitchen and bar equipment and operating systems. LGM is able to solicit a minimum of three bids for competitive contract terms.
